On September 18th - 23th 2009, 8th issue of the Open St. Petersburg Film Festival Beginning took place. Part of the festival programme were also awarded films from last Early Melons Festival. Visitors could watch four of them: Grandmaster (dir. R. Kohoutová), Grandfather, Tourists and I in Brussels (dir. Š. Ondruš), Always 4:22 (dir. L. Sceranková) and 4 Kilometers (dir. M. Shapiro). Block of Early Melons films introduced the programme director of Early Melons Eva Michalková.
